Our Journey

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, my wife Skylar and I found ourselves in a tough spot. The insurance business I was running was deemed “non-essential”, forcing us to look for new opportunities. That’s when we turned to food delivery, working for DoorDash, GrubHub, Uber Eats, and InstaCart.

We quickly learned the ups and downs of the industry—long hours, unpredictable earnings, and the wear and tear on our vehicle (three sets of tires, four major breakdowns, thousands of dollars in repairs—yikes!). But the hardest part? Feeling like a disposable commodity. A simple infraction could get your app suspended, and trying to get support often meant waiting weeks for a response.
